Heritage Day 2026

A couple of weeks ago the Heritage Day Team, after advertising for several weeks, met to discuss the last 12 months of the group and also in order to form a new committee, unfortunately, nobody came forward to form a committee.

Therefore, Heritage day in the format we know it will not take place. It is hoped that a group or organisation will take on the mantle to put on a Heritage day. However at this stage no-one has come forward, the group has reached out with the news of the future of the Heritage day team to other organisations in the hope that they might be in position to put an event on for our community.

There will be a Concert at the Workman’s Hall in March to celebrate our Heritage status and also the Workmen’s hall Volunteers are putting on an event at the hall in June, so not all is lost.

At the AGM it was agreed to wind down the organisation as per the resolution over the next 12 months. As of this AGM this group is dissolved, however, should a committee be found in the next 12 months prior to the formal dissolution any remaining funds and assets would be transferred. The group can be reconstituted if there were willing members of the community that would be interested to form a group .
